New EU SST Service Portfolio now available

Today EU SST has published an updated EU Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) Service Portfolio. This publication presents the EU SST services – Collision Avoidance, Re-entry Analysis and Fragmentation Analysis – in detail and in a visual and user-friendly way. How EU SST works to develop a space surveillance and tracking capability that contributes to safeguarding space infrastructure is also tackled.

The updated Service Portfolio incorporates the latest developments at EU SST, including:

  • new features for users of the EU SST services, such as the Large vs Large Screening for users of the Collision Avoidance service, and the EU SST Communication and Coordination Platform
  • information on EU SST as part of the EU Space Programme, the SST Partnership, EUSPA as the EU SST Front Desk and user engagement
  • a layout aligned with the new EU SST visual identity

The Portfolio reflects the constant evolution of the SST services, which are developed considering users’ feedback. The three services and the related products, as well as how they are delivered through the SST Portal, are described in detail and illustrated with new images from the enhanced products and the SST Portal.

The EU SST services assess the risk of in-orbit collisions and uncontrolled re-entry of space debris into the Earth’s atmosphere and detect and characterise in-orbit fragmentations. Currently more than 500 satellites are safeguarded from the risk of collision, and more than 200 organisations are receiving the EU SST services.
